One year. In just one year, Westeros has been torn to pieces in this bloody rebellion. But finally, it has ended. Robert Baratheon struck down Rhaegar Targaryen on the Trident, casting the rubies of his breastplate into the river. Aerys the Mad, the last Targaryen king, was slain by his own sworn man, Ser Jaime Lannister. Eddard Stark found him seated upon the throne, with Aerys's corpse lying at the foot of its steps. Robert Baratheon will be soon crowned King of the Andals, Rhoynar, and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm. There is still conflict left, however. Stannis Baratheon, freed from Storm's End by a smuggler called Davos, besieges Dragonstone, which Willem Darry still holds in the name of House Targaryen. Word has it he harbors Prince Viserys and Queen Rhaella there.

But for the moment, we focus on Dorne. Eddard Stark, the new Lord of Winterfell, and his six men, including Howland Reed, ride to the Tower of Joy, the fortress where Eddard's sister Lyanna is held captive. She is guarded by three great and storied members of the Kingsguard - Gerold Hightower, Oswell Whent, and Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning. The rebellion culminates in this battle, and afterwards.. well, the Stag will be crowned.
