Sorry, couldn't resist invoking the trope. It is twenty years into the reign of King Elessar. Rohan and the Reunited Kingdom are flourishing. The High Elves are mostly gone, though some remain. The Wood Elves are thriving however, and the Avari are, well, they're the Avari. The Dwarves are also prosperous, but some of the youngest are voluntarily living among Men instead if they are near; to the elder Dwarves this is very troubling. The exception to this trend are the Dwarves of the Lonely Mountain.

To the East and South, trade is flourishing; treaties with the Men of those regions has brought many exotic goods west, ranging from Haradrim sugar and kafay to Xin silk and spices. All Minas Anor needs is some everything nice and they could start a little girl factory.

The only real issue this past year, in fact, was the tragic death of the old Atmoran King Decimus. A few months ago he simply took ill and died. He and his twin sons, Marius and Antimarius had been a near unstoppable trio alongside Elessar and King Eomer on their joint campaigns. Marius as a charismatic asskicker who led from the front beaide the great kings and Antimarius as the genius behind many a winning strategy. And Decimus was the level-headed center on which the other two rotated. Many leaders had genuinely liked the man for his common sense and honesty. After the funeral, Marius disappeared, and Antimarius withdrew into his studies.

But there was another son. Tacitus, arguably the most deadly and intelligent of the three brothers, was the heir. People hardly ever see him these days, but just this week he launched an attack on one of the independent city-states between the Atmoran and Xin territories. It was not long after that you received a letter from an anonymous person, telling you to meet him at an inn in Dale called the Rotting Dragon. The sign is supposed to have an image of Smaug's corpse on it. The sender only said that you have specific skills he needs. They also instruct that you are to go up to the bar, tap on the counter three times, and ask thw innkeep to rent the cellar room. It says she will know what to do from there. You can investigate or ignore it, up to you... but then, you'd never know what would javw happened, would you?

Gondor’s forces are at war, off fighting the Enemy in Mordor. It’s late at night in the city of Pelargir and you’re walking a street or sitting in a bar, lamenting on your discharge. Be it “old age”, “alcoholism”, “too much trauma” whatever the hell they told you to excuse depriving you of your passion. It’s been a long time since you’ve worn the armor. Then you hear it, a muffled yip and the sound of a blade through flesh. You may be rusty but you recognize that sound like your mother’s voice. You head over and look around a corner, then you see them. A band of savages, dunlendings all over. The soldiers are off at the war, the few guards that could be spared for the city are currently hoisted on stakes. You aren’t going to let a bunch of savages take over your city, and kill your kinsmen and women. You’re a f*ing swan knight, and they’re going to pay

Standard quasi-sandbox RP set in the late 4th age. Humans have now built nations across middle earth although the Re-United kingdom (Now dubbed the Evendim Empire) has now somewhat declinedwith control over northern Gondor, the Shire (nominally) and the area around the Greenway up to Fornost (the land south of the Isen linking the two regions.

Rohan has lost east emmet and the Wold to a newly invigorated Fangornbut has expanded eastward towards Mordor taking Emyn Muil.

Mordor is now divided into several parts, Gormîr (the plains of Gorgoroth) home to the somewhat less abhorrent descendants of the Mordor Uruks. Rotarland, technically a region of Gormîr but populated by a number of Gondorians, dwarves and the increasingly intelligent children of ungoliant. Their Capital at Minas Morgul and led by a mysterious spirit some even say is the Great Spider Shelob herself. The Majority of Nurnen, now belongs to the indigenous or captured slaves of that were kept in the region by Sauron.

Although the Eldar left for Aman or died many years ago the peoples of Mirkwood and the Avari are thriving, having expanded their territories to Fangorn and have even begun to resettle Lothlorien and Rivendell. 

The Dwarves, following the remarkably fast evolution of more friendly orcish groups have begun to expand their holds. The Kingdoms of Khazadûm and Urukdel are home to some of the richest people in Middle Earth, as well as some of the poorest among it's miners, mushroom cultivators and labour gangs.

At this point I will shut up and let everyone fill it in with their own stuff but hopefully this late 4th age stuff will soon be detailed enough for adventure RPs as well.

Quite simple, as it always was, but now everyone is a lot more mature.

Godmodding will be crushed, no excuses - speak to me before doing anything remotely questionable.

Growth rates will be the same as they are now unless I specifically state that they change, and each "turn" post shall span six months as it did at first (that being therefore "Spring X" and "Autumn X" respectively, where X is the year).

Anything you do will have a knock-on effect in the country, however, to make this "fun", I'm going to make all rulers immortal and ruling for life their respective countries unless they abdicate. Of course, that may just be as a governor under a larger power, but the point stands that if you want to you can turn your homeland into a wasteland and still rule the ashes, or you can not and actually have power under another power.

As with the first, technological advancement will be in terms of realism, but any advances have to be cleared with me first.

it has been 43 years since the fall of rome, Europe has been plunged into chaos, who will take this oppurtunity to create an empire to last throughout the ages. This rp will take place in 500 AD medieval europe, all empires are weak due to the black death (9 out of every 10 people died) and most are about to collapse, Lone Lords fight to keep their territories ignoring most of their leaders calls to arms. You can create your own custom faction, but you can only start out with 500 troops and a castle. 

Those of you who have been keeping up with the LOTR Minecraft Mod wiki may be familiar with some of the recent Communism memes/debates, so I think it might be interesting if we held an RP based on Russia shortly before the Revolution (R³.) I know that (as of a few months ago at least) there were some concerns about this wiki dying out. If you guys wanted, I could probably recruit a few trusty lads from the other wiki to this one. Don't know if that would be good or not.

As I've barely taken part in a single RP, I'm thinking it would be better for someone else to GM this one.

One last thing. Gen and I have a few Bolshevik-themed alts left over from our April Fools shenanigans, that with his permission we could recycle for a fun new level of immersion in this RP.

I'm suggesting an RP or requesting a slot, or what ever the heck we're doing nowadays.

The basic plot will be similar to The Magnificent Seven, or something in that genre. In 1876, a generic Western town is taken over by an evil rich dude, heroes have to unite to take him down, etc, etc...

In the distant future our home, sol, lies in a time of warlords and tyrants, a time of widespread anarchy, and a time of ruin. What was once our home, Terra, has become nothing less of a ruin the cradle of humanity is nothing but a broken frame, but not all is so bleak. Throughout Sol many worlds, many peoples, many civilizations thrive on the distant worlds of Sol. In this time of self made men anything can happen from the destruction to the rise of mighty Empires.

Basic Rules:

1. This is a time after a great fall meaning technology has fallen substantially. Most weapons are kinetic in nature while things like Lasers are for the upper class or the heaviest of ship or vehicle classes

2. This RP will take place in Sol and Sol alone. Every faction must come from Sol in some shape or form and may not have any outside territory

3. No Aliens, the different breeds of Humans should do (The many different breeds of human are very 'Alien' to our minds and all the sub-species are really only related by a common ancestor)

4. No Godmodding, Being OP, Metagaming, you get the drift.

5. For Simplicities sake to travel from the Sun to the edge of Sol takes 3 Terran days within the RP (Judge all actions and timing off of this please)

- A 'Part' of a outer planet is defined as either part of the surface (If applicable) and a few moons (And please don't just swallow up all the good moons and then let let other people claim them) for Example one could take Titan on Saturn and then a few minor moons not take Titan and then all the other major moons.

Now for the planet conditions (Below each planet are the moons if applicable):

Mercury:

Mercury was once a inhabitable rock and in most cases it still is an old terraforming project brought 'some' life now Mercury is much like tatooine in star wars (a barley habitable space rock). It has decent mineral wealth but things like water and fertile soil are extremely rare if not impossible to find.

Venus:

Venus was terraformed not for mineral wealth but to be a luxury park for the rich and wealthy. After centuries of mismanagement and general neglect Venus has become a toxic jungle full of deadly predators, acid rain, volcanoes and heat vents a plenty, and even the air itself has become foul and toxic. But Venus's mineral wealth has yet to be tapped into for those willing to risk the creatures that dwell above and below Venus...

Terra:

Our home world is nothing but a ruin shattered by industrialization, rampant green house emissions, and many other factors. Terra's surface is now a mix of toxic wastelands, the sea of rust (Massive junk piles stretching for miles), or barren desert just barley able to sustain life. The once great oceans are gone save one the old pacific now the size of the black sea. Life is able to still live on terra but not at the levels before. Terra's mineral wealth is stripped and bare with only basic metals being found in mines.

Luna: Luna on the other hand is terraformed to the point of being as fertile as our old Terra was the rich and wealthy live on Luna as the poor work and suffer on Terra

Mars:

Mars was terraformed long ago to being a habitable desert with small lakes being present on the surface. Mars is comparable to what Arabia is today with some parts of mars still being rather infertile and smaller sections being fertile. Mars is rich in mineral wealth and some parts have been already mined out by corporations long ago but still some sections of mars are untapped. Scattered across mars are many old mining camps and equipment and many settlements built into the sides of the rock walls.

Phobos and Demos: Both are just for mining really they have had some mining presence but nothing major.

Jupiter:

Jupiter itself was never terraformed as the gas it produces was deemed to valuable to waste. The people of Jupiter live on floating cities/mining platforms that collect and refine the gas. Most of Jupiter's population though lives on it's many moons.

Galilean Moons: The Galilean Moons (Lo, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto) have all been terraformed to something like the climates of the Central America.

Amalthea Moons:  The Amalthea Moons (Metis, Adrastea, Amalthea, Thebe) are mainly for mining and some have been deemed worthy of terraforming

Other: The moons that fall under the Himalia, Carme, Ananke, and Pasiphae moon groups are mainly for mining with maybe one or two being terraformed.

Saturn:

Saturn itself is much like Jupiter with floating cities and all. It's main population lives on the moons much the same as Jupiter

Major Moons: The Major Moons (Mimas, Enceladus, Tethys, Dione, Rhea, Titan, and Lapetus) have all been terraformed comparable to the American Midwest.

Other: All the minor moons are for mining purposes and maybe one or two have been terraformed

Uranus:

Uranus is a Ice giant and it's situation is much like the Gas Giants. Most of the planets population live on it's moons.

Major Moons: The Major Moons (Mirandia, Ariel, Umbriel, Titania, and Oberon) are a mixed group with the largest Umbriel, Titania, and Oberon being terraformed to rather laughable degree (Comparable to the russian steppes and Siberia)

All other moons are either for mining or have been terraformed to just barley able to support life

Neptune:

Neptune itself is much like Uranus being an Ice giant and all.

The only moons of worth on Neptune are Triton and Nered both terraformed to a standard of modern day Arizona

All the other moons are for mining.

Pluto (Yes, I know, not a planet):

Pluto is barren and devoid of life and is really just for mining most of the Dwarf Planet's population lives on Pluto's moon Charon which has been terraformed to the degree of Peru

Pluto's other moons are for mining really.

Ceres has been terraformed and is a major port for miners within the asteroid belt. It is barren but livable by anyone's standards.

Okay, so I had an idea, and this is something I will be sticking to. It's a character centric adventure based science fiction RP, set in the collaborative sci-fi universe established by myself and DD2. You may play as any race from any faction you wish, and I can grant a list upon request (If you want to be someone of a race or faction not in the collaborative universe, you may discuss it with me). I will not be spoiling anything at all, however, I can assure you it will involve action, excitement, suspense, insurmountable odds and a mystery as old as the universe itself.

I remember twas a long time ago that we as a wiki did one of these. A RP in which all our characters for what ever reason meet up in one place and chat/fight/what ever the hell coaxtol does.

Everyone this RP will be 5th age so make some new characters, imagine countries long after the fall of Mordor, the Re-United Kingdom, Umbar and everywhere else. High elves have entirely left Middle Earth but the other elven peoples are now more common. The Ents have retreated into the forest of Mirkwood as fangorn slowly decays. the Orcs, mewlips and half trolls have long since been dissacosiated with Mordor and Sauron, forming their own nations. .

New characters and try to either think of new factions or very different factions (run them through with me and you don't have to make one if you don't want to)

Looking back, I realize I've been a really crappy and undevoted GM. So, I make this poll for what I should resume or redo.

Hello my fellow wikians I just wanted to say it has been way too long since I've hosted a rp! Its time to fix that.

In this rp you will play as an auxilia, the basic soldier of the Rin Empire who does the dirty work and gets no credit. All the rpers will be in the same squad and will be put through various events as they battle against the enemies of the empire!

DD will co host being the creator of the Rin.

March 16th, 2017. The day the lives of all Human beings were changed forever. Earlier that day, we detected an anomaly at the edge of our solar system. A short time later, SETI confirmed without a doubt that this was indeed a starship, on a path headed straight for Earth.

The strange, beautiful vessel entered orbit around our homeworld, and contacted our leaders. We were most shocked to discover that the aliens were shockingly humanoid in appearance, but taller, with blue skin and yellow eyes. The one contacting us was clearly female.

She said that her people were called the Elerians, and that the Elerian Fiefdoms were a great stellar empire.

As she spoke, she revealed many things about the mindset of the Elerians, such as an obsession with racial purity, and the belief that the Elerians are the greatest race in the galaxy, that all the lesser filth that populate it should bow to them or be destroyed.

Then the Elerian vessel gave Humanity a choice. They could either:

Fight and die, or...

Become a protectorate of the Elerian Fiefdoms.

In the end, the choice was simple, and most governments capitulated to the demands of the Elerians.

There were, of course, those who resisted. And those who did felt the swift and terrible wrath of this race of warriors. They slaughter all lesser beings (AKA everyone but Elerians) who resist.

The Elerians fortified the Sol system, constructing military bases at all jump points, gas harvesters in our gas giants, mines in our asteroid belts, factories and orbital shipyards wherever they could, and even started to terraform and colonize Mars.

Human beings were forced to follow Elerian laws, which were incredibly matriarchal. Our military was disbanded, as were all our law enforcement agencies, all replaced by the Elerian military, which only females were allowed to join. Humans were allowed to go about our everyday lives, so long as we regularly paid our tribute of food (and it was a fairly large tribute) to the Elerian people, to help feed their soldiers as they fought their wars.

It wasn't all bad. Certainly, they improved our medical facilities and gave us access to wondrous information. The Elerians were telepathic and telekinetic, and they could see everything that happened all across the galaxy. They even set up special systems so we could tune in to GNN, or Galactic News Network. Of course, we were only allowed to see news about Elerian victories, successes, or generally good things that happened to the Fiefdoms.

Then we learned that the Elerians weren’t just satisfied with taking our food and our freedom. They also decided to demand that each month we donate some of our females to the Elerian military, to help fight their wars.

Eventually, however, some Humans who were displeased with living under the heavy hand of the Fiefdoms were contacted by a few spies. Spies from the Klackon Hive, a race of insectoids that have been at war with the Elerians for a while now.

They offered certain groups of Humans the opportunity to reach safety on a Klackon colony, which they offered to share with them. This also meant the potential opportunity to fight the Elerians, under a government less oppressive than the Elerians. Or so they said.

These Humans accepted, of course, and they managed to sneak out of the Sol System in stealthy Klackon scout ships. This band of Humans settled underground with the Klackons, and though they were given most of the rights a Klackon has, it remains to be seen how the Klackons will treat us once they’ve used us to help win their war. Nobody truly knows if the Hive is trustworthy.

It was only a matter of time before the Klackon Humans and the Elerian Humans clashed in the stars and on the planets. The Klackon Humans were dismayed to find that many of the women inducted into the Elerian military had embraced the Elerian mindset, and had been given equipment and training as deadly as any Elerian, though lacking their telepathic and telekinetic abilities.

So, the question is, what side will you choose? One of the women serving under the mighty Elerian Fiefdoms? Or perhaps one of the freedom fighters of the Klackon Hive? Maybe you will choose to be a member of either species, or maybe a mercenary of another species (message me for information on other species). The choice is yours. In the end, who will emerge victorious, and who will wind up on the ash heap of history?

March 12th, TA 3019, City of Atmora.

"The border is pierced, the capital is threatened, and what do you do? You sell out the garrison of Fort Abrazân and leave Atmora wide open for a siege so the enemy will spare your hide. Well, it's about damn time your evil comes back to bite you in the ass!" - Decimus Meridius Maximus, just before executing Emperor Sextus.

March 15th, TA 3019, City of Atmora.

"The infernal bombardment! They've been at it for days now. I'm not sure how well the wall's holding up at this point. I'm terrified it'll just collapse under my feet while we're up manning the battlements." - Your decurion, Marius Marcus Caesar.

The darkest time in any of your lives was the siege. The first ring was taken in the initial "hurricane of steel", as a poet would later put it. After that you fell back to the second ring. Many of the buildings in the second ring of the city were already turned to ruins by the ferocity of the normal shot fired by the enemy artillery which had been set up in the first. When they started shooting flaming, pitch-covered balls into the city, it got simply horrific. The second ring was a densely packed, haphazardly arranged collection of primarily wooden structures back then. Only a few of those survived. The buildings made mostly of stone became ruins, their wood supports gone, but you remember how you planned to them as a last-ditch makeshift fortification if all seemed lost.

Food was not too great a concern; the second ring was the least dense, and the largest in the city. It was built to be a great fortified plain below the hill the original city sits on, meant as farmland. An ingenious strategy, to be sure- one only Numenoreans could have pulled off. That came at a price though- the walls are not as strong as what you'd find at Minas Tirith. Given time and effort, they can be destroyed- though it would be easier to repair them than the Tirith walls!

The enemy army's composition explains for the Gondorian scholars what happened to reduce the host of Mordor to under 20,000 at the Black Gate, in lieu of all the estimates of the total strength of Sauron's armies suggesting that more than 60,000 should have remained even after Pelennor. The enemy at Atmora consisted of some 40,000 assorted Orcs, Uruks, and Trolls, backed up by around 5,000 Khandish cavalry archers and some 10,000 Easterlings spared from Erebor.

It was the 21st when the bombardment ceased. They had finally run out of ammunition. You knew you were likely to die soon. It was a simple question of how it would happen and what you would do before it did.

Your unit is not a traditional one. It was cobbled together from the remains of seven broken companies left after the first ring was taken. You're one of the troop types listed under Atmoran Empire on the faction troop count page (but not the ones from Tacitus' reforms- that's a different army from a later time period!). That means you have that soldier's listed gear plus anything they would reasonably have or could have picked up for whatever reason during the battle.

Name: It goes like this- personal name, father's name, family name.

Age: It should be somewhere between 20 and 30 for professionals who are still in active service. 30 to 60 is a reservist being called on to fight. Younger than 20 is a volunteer.

Gender: While women are not permitted to join the army by Atmoran law, that hasn't stopped a few from disguising themselves and joining anyway. Such a character can't be a Praetorian or a Servio, however. They would have been discovered the second it was time for the armor fitting, and besides, Praetorians are selected from the boys at an early age, and Servios are just exceptional Praetorians picked out for heavy cavalry training. Any female character, of course, is using a fake name.

Troop type: This tells me your skills and your equipment.

Additional skills: Anything you can do that isn't in the job description. An example would be a Praetorian who's also an expert on siege equipment or a Triarii who can ride a horse. If you ask, I'll tell you what's already covered by your training.

Misc: Everything else you want me to know.

By the way, you can all live or you can all die. It depends on your choices.

Ofc it'll be fine to play Khals of the Dothraki Sea and the Magisters of the Nine free cities and places like Yi Ti and the Slaver Cities. Point being.
